The Winnipeg Blue Bombers won their pre-season opener Wednesday night at Investors Group Field.

Sergio Castillo kicked four field goals, three in the third quarter as Winnipeg beat Montreal 36-13.

"It felt pretty good" said Castillo when asked about his night. "After the first miss (Justin) Medlock was like 'you got this' and that is the main thing he has got my back. Throughout the whole camp he has been really supportive. There is nothing better when you have someone that great rooting for you."

Tim Flanders, who scored the Blue Bombers first touchdown as he found the end zone from one yard out on the final play of the first half, finished the night with 80 yards rushing and also caught two passes for 13 yards.

"The offensive line did a very good job, the offensive coordinator did a very good job putting us in that position," explained Flanders. "I just went out there and did what I had to do."

Meanwhile, Head coach Mike O'Shea shared his thoughts on game one.

The Bombers will play their final exhibition game Monday in Ottawa against the RedBlacks.
