The ACC Cougars soccer teams had a busy week having played the Brandon University Bobcats during the week followed with games against the Red River Rebels Saturday and St Boniface Les Rouges Sunday.

The women's team played the defending Manitoba Colleges Athletic Conference champion Bobcats Wednesday. With only four returning players for the Cougars the Bobcats proved the more experienced team leading 3-0 at halftime, ran the field in the second half and took the game handily 8-0.

The women played the Red River Rebels Saturday. The Rebels led 2-0 heading into halftime and once again the Cougars lost steam in the second half. THe Rebels won 6-0.

Sunday the Cougars took on St. Boniface Les Rouges. The teams were matched for the first half hour of play but Les Rouges opened scoring at the 33 minute mark followed by two quick ones right before the half to go up 3-0. The Cougars had good attempts in the second half but couldn't find the back of the net and Les Rouges won the game 4-0.

The Cougar men's team played Thursday against the Brandon University Bobcats and Cougars Alex Alvarado scored the first goal of the game. The Bobcats tied it up with a goal from Jordan Dill, a deflection off a defender but Cougars Hillman Williams catches a break away to lead the game 2-1 heading into halftime. The Bobcats find their rhythm in the second half and pot another four goals to win the game 5-2.

Saturday the men's team played the Red River Rebels and the Rebels score first with a penalty kick after a hand ball is called in the crease at the 36 minute mark. With 4 minutes left in the first the Rebels go up 2-0 at half. Another penalty kick and the Rebels lead 3-0 but the Cougars rebound with goals from Hillman Williams and Alex Alvarado. Ultimately the Rebels take the game 3-2.

Sunday the teams battled back and forth but Les Rouges opened scoring and led at half 1-0. The Cougars couldn't find the back of the net but Yahia Chihab of Les Rouges had some amazing shots to score twice in the second and Les Rouges won the game 3-0.

The Cougars will host the Providence University College Pilots Saturday and the Canadian Mennonite University Blazers Sunday at Christian Heritage Field. The women at 1 p.m. and men at 3:15 p.m.
