She has a Hall of Fame resume.

Cathy Gauthier won two Canadian Women's Curling Championships with Connie Laliberte and one with Jennifer Jones.

She's also captured a World Senior Women's Championship with Lois Fowler, Maureen Bonar and Allyson Stewart.

Awfully impressive credentials.

Gauthier's latest curling highlight – that one she had to watch from the stands behind sheet D at the Sun Gro Centre.

Thursday during the supper hour Christine MacKay played a fabulous draw to the four foot that just slithered past Joelle Brown's rock that was in the top 12 foot.

Brown, who had the hammer, was forced to play a raise take-out for the win but missed the mark.

MacKay, third Gaetanne Gauther, second Taylor Maida and lead Katrina Thiessen recorded their first win at the 2016 Provincial Scotties Tournament of Hearts in Beausejour and coach Cathy Gauthier was all smiles.

It wasn't all smiles three weeks earlier for a team that had some lofty expectations in Rivers.

“We went in to Junior Provincials after having had a great year with some pretty high goals for ourselves and it didn't happen,” said Gauthier. “We weren't even a contender. We just did not play well.”

“Coming into the Scotties our goal was to just show ourselves – the team that we thought we were and didn't really care about wins and losses. You come out and play the best teams the first day. That's what happens when you're a low seed. When we lost in an extra end to Michelle Montford, that was a win for us because they played so well and we were so happy. And then we didn't play particularly well this morning. To see Christine do what she can do, this win means more for us than probably a 5-2 record would to most teams.”

Yes the coach was beaming when she left the stands and walked over to congratulate her team.

“I have never felt the emotions.” Gauthier said. “I was almost in tears. I don't think I felt like that as player until a Canadian final. I am so proud of these girls. You can't even imagine.”

And when one of those girls just so happens to be your daughter.

“I'm so involved and invested in this team,” remarked Gauthier. “I couldn't love those other three girls anymore if they were my own kids. I don't care if they win. I want to see them do what they can do. So when Christine made that last shot - it was well called, well swept - that's a team. I'm so proud.”
