Nikolaj Ehlers recorded a hat trick and Patrik Laine scored twice including the 100th goal of his career in the Winnipeg Jets 6-5 victory over the Chicago Blackhawks Thursday night at Bell MTS Place.

Laine (20 years, 224 days) scored 1:43 into the first period and became the fourth youngest player in NHL history to reach the milestone.

Wayne Gretzky (20 years, 40 days) was the youngest to reach 100 regular season goals followed by Jimmy Carson (20 years, 116 days) and Brian Bellows (20 years, 179 days).

Laine added his league-leading 21st goal of the season at 1:18 of the third period.

Jacob Trouba also scored for Winnipeg.

Defenseman Cameron Schilling notched his first NHL point in his Jets debut as he drew an assist on Ehlers' second goal of the game.

Marcus Kruger, John Hayden, Jan Rutta. Dominik Kahun and Artem Anisimov replied for the Blackhawks.

Winnipeg goaltender Connor Hellebuyck made 26 saves.

The Jets (14-8-2) will begin December with a three-game road trip.

Winnipeg will meet New Jersey on Saturday, the New York Rangers on Sunday and the New York Islanders on Tuesday.
