Connor Hellebuyck stopped all 27 shots he faces as the Winnipeg Jets defeated the Chicago Blackhawks 4-0 Tuesday night at MTS Centre.

"The first period was a good solid period," said Winnipeg head coach Paul Maurice. "We had that huge 5-on-3 penalty kill. I thought after our power play we stopped moving the puck through the neutral zone the way we needed to against that team, got off our strength and kind of fed their strength for a little while, but got back to our game again in the third."

Jets rookie Patrick Laine scored his NHL leading 12th goal of the season.

Josh Morrissey scored his first career NHL goal while Chris Thorburn and Nic Petan each potted their first of the season.

With the loss, the Blackhawks had their consecutive games point streak snapped at 11 games.

"Playing against a team like that, it’s going to take a good effort and a solid effort from everybody." said Thorburn. "There was parts of that game that we didn't like but we were able to withstand their pressure and let the game come to us a little bit and make it turn in the third."

With the win, Winnipeg (9-7-2) has earned points in five straight games, which is a season high. The most consecutive games in which the Jets earned a point last season was five, which was done in the last five games of the season.

The franchise record for most consecutive games with a point is nine, which was in 2005.

Winnipeg's next game is Thursday against the Flyers in Philadelphia.
