Alex Chiasson scored the winner with 11:09 left in the third period as the Ottawa Senators defeated the Winnipeg Jets 2-1 Wednesday night at MTS Centre.

Jets defenseman Ben Chiarot turned the puck over beside the Winnipeg net and Ryan Dzingel found Chiasson who potted his eighth goal of the season.

"It’s frustrating to lose the game that late into it," said Winnipeg goaltender Michael Hutchinson who made 17 saves. "Their guy (Dzingel) got a lucky break when he through the puck out front and it goes off Scheif’s skate right to their other guy (Chiasson) wide open.  It’s one of those things where we battled hard after that to try and tie it up, and we had some good chances after.  That’s a big positive for us, keep moving forward and when we have a setback like that, just battle like we did."

Mark Scheifele had the lone goal for the Jets who host the Chicago Blackhawks on Friday and then play their final home game of the season Sunday against the Minnesota Wild.

Winnipeg (31-39-7) has won just six of 22 games at MTS Centre since January 10th.
