Patrick Laine recorded his second hat trick of the season as the Winnipeg Jets defeated the Dallas Stars 8-2 Tuesday night at MTS Centre.

"It was a great win, 8-2, it doesn't happen every day," said Laine who leads the National Hockey League with 11 goals. "It was a special win and it was nice to be able to win again. It's always unbelievable to score. The feeling is always going to be the same when you score. But I'm proud of myself and proud of my team. We played a really good game today."

Mark Scheifele added two goals and two assists and leads the NHL with 18 points.

Andrew Copp's shorthanded goal was his first of the season for the Jets.

Adam Lowry and Marko Dano also scored for Winnipeg.

Tyler Seguin and Patrick Eaves replied for the Stars.

Connor Hellebuyck stopped 28 shots.

The Jets (6-7-1) next game is Thursday in Arizona against the Coyotes.
