The Gladstone Lakers are 2017-2018 Tiger Hills Hockey League champions.

Eric Beaudin had a goal and two assists as Gladstone defeated the Killarney Shamrocks 4-3 Saturday night in MacGregor and took the best-of-five final three games to one.

Trey Evenson, Nick Stire and Sean Kubas also scored for the Lakers who won three straight after losing the series opener.

Jesse Bernard, Isaac Friesen and Bryce Lamb replied for the Shamrocks who saw their two-year reign as THHL champions come to an end.

Gladstone led 2-1 after the first period and 4-1 after forty minutes.

The Lakers will represent the Tiger Hills Hockey League at Hockey Manitoba’s Provincial Senior A Championship.

Gladstone will join the South Eastern Manitoba Hockey League champion Carman Beavers, Carillon Senior Hockey League's Ste. Anne Aces and North Central Hockey League champion Grandview Comets at the provincials. The Lakers round robin opener is against the Comets on Thursday, March 29th in Rivers.
