The first week of competition wrapped up Friday at the 2019 Canada Winter Games.

Team Manitoba athletes captured 11 medals including seven gold, two silver and two bronze.

Our province’s last medal of Week One came in Ringette as Team Toba defeated British Columbia 6-4 in the bronze medal game.

Saturday is a transition day as week one athletes are heading home and week two athletes are arriving in Red Deer.

Week two sports include Alpine Skiing, Badminton, Cross Country Skiing, Female & Male Curling, Figure Skating, Gymnastics, Female Hockey, Judo, Snowboard and Squash.

Speedskater Tyson Langelaar of Winnipeg captured gold in the 1500, 1000, 500 meters & the Mass Start and silver in the 5000 meters
Speedskater Alexa Scott of Clandeboye captured gold in the 1000 & 3000 meters and the Mass Start
Boxer Justice Harborne of Beausejour got silver in the 60kg division
Boxer Jawad Miakhail of Winnipeg won bronze in the 56kg division
