Zach Wytinck of Glenboro and Bobbi Uhl, who plays out of Shilo, are 2016 Accurate Dorwin provincial junior golf champions.

Wytinck was three-over par 76 Wednesday playing in the wind and rain at Bel Acres and finished with a 72-hole total of five-over par 291.

That was 10 shots better than runner-up Sam Diamond of St. Charles.

“It's pretty awesome to finally do it,” said Wytinck. “Play four good rounds, four good days – it feels pretty good. It's a a hard tournament. The weather was pretty terrible. It was kind of a grind. Guys were really fighting it. It was pretty fun and pretty happy to finally do it.”

Wytinck was 71 and 69 in Portage on Sunday and Monday and then fashioned a two-over par 75 on Tuesday at Bel Acres.

Do the math and Wytinck was sleeping on a comfortable 11-stroke lead Tuesday night heading into the final round Wednesday morning.

“Everybody that I played with today, they're taking driver off every tee and I'm hitting irons,” said Wytinck. “Just got to hope that I hit it in the fairway and on the green and two-putt. They're going to do what they're going to do – I can't control it. I was just trying to play to the best of my ability.”

Wytinck, Diamond and Stefan Lavallee of Quarry Oaks will make up Manitoba's provincial team at the Canadian Championship from August 1st - 4th at the Clovelly Golf Club in St. John's, Newfoundland & Labrador.

Keaton Jameson of Shilo was 80 Wednesday and finished in 25th place at 325.

2016 Manitoba Junior Champion Bobbi Uhl

Uhl won the junior women's crown by two shots over Camryn Roadley of Glendale.

Both were seven-over par 80 on Wednesday.

Uhl finished with a 54-hole total of 233.

“I went to see my coach (Dave Scinocca) before this tournament started because I was struggling with my driver and a couple of my woods,” said the 16-year-old Erickson product. “He fixed it so I had confidence coming in and it just worked. I very rarely got into any trouble so that kept my scores low. It really helped.”

Uhl, Rebecca Kuik of Niakwa and Marissa Naylor of Pine Ridge will make up Manitoba's provincial team at the Canadian Championship from August 2nd - 5th at the Links at Penn Hills in Shubenacadie, Nova Scotia.

Haley Shanks of Shilo was 94 and finished at 273.

Tiana Slate of Shilo was 94 and was 288.
