The Pembina Valley Conservation District invested in a dock at the Mary Jane Reservoir but it was stolen this spring between May 16 and 28.

The dock had given visitors a secure place to access the lake.

The dock was owned and operated by the Pembina-Manitou Game and Fish Association, and was purchased with help from the Tiger Hills Sub-District.

The dock was a 4' wide x 16' aluminum section with wheels and a 4' wide x 16' aluminum truss ramp section. The dock was manufactured by Floe, and had 'Pembina Game and Fish' welded onto the frame. It purchased for just over $5,000.

Jim Moores is the Vice-chairman this year with the Pembina-Manitou Game and Fish Association. He said he would be happy if the dock was returned somehow.

"If somebody anonymously wants to leave it some place and let us know somehow, we'd be glad to have it back no questions asked," said Moores.

Moores added they did not purchase insurance for the dock, and thought the likelihood of it going missing without being noticed was slim.

If a new dock is purchased, Moores said they may have to find a way to secure it in place.

Tiger Hills Sub-District Chair Bill Howat said it is a shame the dock was stolen, and it hinders a lot of the lake users.

Howat added this past winter they lost a planted spruce tree at the Binney Park, which he believes someone used as a Christmas tree.

"Other than that we have been pretty fortunate. Most people have consideration but I guess there are are some Grinches out there," he said.

If anyone has any information on the whereabouts of the dock, please contact the R.C.M.P.

A cash reward is also being offered, should the information lead to the return of the dock.
