Assiniboine Community College will be busy with activity on Thursday, February 18 when campuses open up for the annual open house.

The college's North Hill and Victoria Avenue East campuses in Brandon, as well as Parkland Campus in Dauphin, will be part of a daylong event from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

"For those interested in studying at ACC, nothing compares to getting on campus and exploring our shops, labs and classrooms while meeting instructors and current students," said Erin Lambert, ACC's Manager of Recruitment & Career Services. "Even for those who aren't sure what program may be the right fit, our open house is a great first step in discovering what options are available."

Staff, instructors, students and alumni will be on-hand to share a behind-the-scenes look at their programs. From building network cables and running scripts in the networking lab to checking out high-tech drones used in the field and investigating mock crime scenes, there's something for everyone to discover.

College staff will address questions surrounding everything from admission requirements and financial aid to athletics, learning support services and amenities on campus. The Students' Association will also be on hand to talk about leadership opportunities, events and support for students across the entire academic year.

"This open house is for anyone thinking about joining our ACC community as a student, whether they're coming directly from high school, transferring from another institution or entering the post-secondary environment as a mature student," said Lambert.

Parents, relatives and friends are also encouraged to attend. Pre-registration is available, although not required for the event.
