There was a vehicle-cyclist accident near Boissevain School on Wednesday afternoon.

RCMP report a 13 year old male student suffered non-life threatening injuries. Police say it appears he rode his bike onto a crosswalk at Highway #10 near the school when he was hit.

Police say the driver of the pick-up that hit the boy remained at the scene and was cooperative. RCMP say speed and alcohol weren’t factors in the mishap.

Traffic was re-routed until early afternoon because of the accident.

Police aren't’ sure if the boy was wearing a helmet and they haven’t found one at the scene. The accident happened around 12:25pm on Wednesday and remains under investigation.
