The chief provincial public health officer says conditions are favourable for parts of Manitoba to be exposed to smoke and haze drifting from a number of wildfires that are burning in northwest United States the last few days.

The report says western Manitoba along the Saskatchewan border, as well as portions of northern Manitoba may experience the highest concentrations of smoke, but most of the province is expected to have some amount of haze this weekend.

The chief provincial health officer says exposure to the smoke may cause sore eyes, tears, coughing, and a runny nose.
