The Boissevain Senior’s Housing group is trying to raise $2 million by the end of this month and they continue to get pledges.

For the past number of years the group has been working to develop a plan to build a complex next to the hospital in Boissevain and if they can reach the goal by the end of 2018 they’d like to turn sod in 2019.

George Heide is a committee member and he’s thrilled with response to their call for support. “We have just gone past the $1 million mark and that happened on December 4th. We have several irons in the fire and I remain optimistic we can reach our goal over the next three weeks.”

The group wants to build a 36 suite facility that would offer things like food and laundry services. The project is expected to cost $8 million.

“Our goal is to have a nice place for people to stay when they reach that point in their life.”
