U-Pick berry season is underway and this year's crop looks good.

George Neudorf with Grand Valley Strawberries at Brandon opened for business on Friday of the long weekend. Neudorf says they are off to a great start.

"They're looking really good. The crop is never looked better. We have a lot of berries right now that are ready to go and we think it's going to be a good year. Normally the season consists of three good weeks of picking and sometimes we go a little bit longer. I'm expecting that it will last all of July."

Neudorf has 18 acres of strawberries and has been in the business for 39 years. He started Grand Valley U-Pick in 1981.
