Excitement is building in Boissevain for this week's visit of the RCMP Musical Ride.

Gates will open on Wednesday at the Boissevain Fairgrounds at 5pm. The show starts at 7:30pm.

Economic Development Officer Dale Banman says spectators will be have a chance to see the riders and horses up close following the show.

“The officers will get off their horses and come up to the edge where the children can talk to the rider,” he explained. “I'm not sure about petting the horses, but I'm sure that will happen as well. There will be a photo op if people want to do that as well.”

Banman expects to see visitors from across the southwest corner of the province and beyond.

Tickets are $10 for adults, $27 for a family, $7 for youth 11 and over, 10 and under are free. Tickets can be purchased at the Municipality of Boissevain-Morton Office, Sunrise Credit Union, Boundary Co-op Food Store and Gas Bar, and at the Goodon Wildlife Museum.

Funds raised from the event will go to support the local ladies hockey team and the local daycare.
