Fridays at noon throughout the summer, the Boissevain Farmer’s Market meets and eats, featuring a different non-profit organization each week to provide the noon meal to raise funds.

Farmer’s Market Chair, Tim Freeman, says over 100 people attend the noon meal each Friday, and buy wares from local vendors; including fresh garden produce, baking and jams and home-made items.

He adds the Farmer’s Market is in it’s 9th year and is always well-attended, having the noon meal together with the market at the Romance Railway Park.

The Boissevain Youth Job Centre provided last Friday’s Meal to the community to raise money for those youth who participated. Lora Carlisle is the Manitoba Youth Centre’s Youth Engagement Leader in Boissevain. She says they have been busy this first half of July.

The town is very supportive of the Youth Job Centre, she says. She adds they are always welcoming new ideas to make the program better.
