The International Peace Garden will be welcoming Communities in Bloom judges to it's facilities on Saturday.

The garden is participating in the 2016 national edition of Communities in Bloom in the Special Attractions category.

"What we have planned for them is a very full day," shared CEO Gary Enns.  "They are going to spend time in our formal garden which is also being prepped for a dedication ceremony on Sunday afternoon.  We are dressing up and ensuring everything is looking really good around the fountain that holds the promise of peace."

Enns noted they also plan to tour the sunken garden and around the the facility.

"And obviously the sunken garden and all the work we have been putting into it.  The perennials, the shrubs, the cactus and succulent collection is always a highlight.  We always take time to tour the judges around the perimeter of the garden.  They get a sense of a scope and magnitude of what we do."

Meanwhile, Enns added going from cool and wet conditions to extremely hot weather has created stress on the garden's plants.

He stated the garden is ensuring all plants stay watered and wet this week so the facility looks fantastic.

The National Communities in Bloom results will be announced in Regina, Saskatchewan from October 27th to 29th.
