A grain dust explosion is being blamed for a fire that destroyed a grain elevator in Crystal City and severely burned an employee.

The provincial fire commissioner's office says the August 20th blast was triggered by a spark.

The fire ripped through the elevator and sent hot embers into the air that touched off another fire at a nearby hardware store.

Brodie Richardson, the elevator employee, suffered-second degree burns to his upper body.
