Fire Prevention Week runs October 4th to 10th.

Troy Lamerz is a fire inspector with Brandon Fire and Emergency services.

He says this year's theme is "Hear The Beep Where You Sleep."

It focuses on getting more smoke alarms in your home.

Lamerz says people are pretty good at listening to advice and making safety changes in their home.
