Four Brandon firefighters have been camping on top of fire station No. 2 on 13th Street in Brandon Since Wednesday and they will come down on Saturday.
Firefighters camping on the roof top are Four volunteers will be staying on the roof this year, with Adrian Fraijo, Leanna Namaka and Matthew Tannas and Adam Desjardin. All camp out participants volunteered for the charity work.
“We volunteered for this and have been having fun raising money for important charities like Muscular Dystrophy, Cerebral Palsy and the firefighter’s fund” said Leanna Namaka.
Last year the camp out raised about $47,000 and firefighters hope to raise about the same this year. “People are welcome to stop by ring the bell and we will lower the boot and they can make a donation.”
Firefighters have also been on the streets with a boot to collect donations.
