Officials continue to monitor flooding throughout Southern Manitoba.

In its latest Flood Update issued Sunday, the province indicated five states of local emergency have been registered with Manitoba EMO including R.M. of Two Borders and Town of Swan River.

Flood watches are in effect for the Turtle, Woody, Whitemud, Red Deer, and Whitemouth rivers, along with Birdtail Creek.

Water levels and flows on the Pembina River are stabilizing as ice jamming is subsiding.

The river is nearing its crest, and is expected to peak between April 4th to 7th.

Operation of the Portage Diversion continues after starting Friday, with it being operated to limit flows on the lower Assiniboine River to minimize ice jamming.
