On November 1st Brandon Police Service received information that a man claimed he would steal a plane from Brandon and land it at the Parliament Building in Ottawa.

Brandon Police spoke with staff at Brandon Airport and the Brandon Flying Club, who were advised no airplanes were stolen from the airport and they will take the necessary precautions to prevent this from happening.

Several police agencies were involved and it was learned the suspect was in a vehicle driving from Alberta and he claimed to be on a one way trip to Ottawa. Police were able to track the man and near Ingnace, Ontario as he was traveling east on the Trans-Canada Highway on the evening of November 1st.
