A homicide investigation made its way to Killarney on Friday morning.

Area residents noticed a few more police vehicles in town including a search and rescue unit.

Tara Seel is with the RCMP’s Media Relations office. “The RCMP has a search team in the Killarney area searching south of Killarney. We are searching in relationship to a homicide out of Neepawa that happened in 2017.

Seel stressed there was no threat to anyone in the Killarney area with regards to the search. Police are simply looking for evidence from a homicide that happened in 2017..

“It’s an ongoing investigation so I can’t release any details and it’s also difficult to say how long we will be there looking for evidence” said Seel.
