RCMP are warning people about the dangers of leaving your keys in your vehicle.

On November 29th around 11:00 am along South Railway in Boissevain a motorist had his vehicle stolen.

“We had a report of someone who had entered a business for no more than five minutes and when they returned to the street their black Buick Rendezvous was missing” said Turtle Mountain RCMP Corporal Matt Robinson.vehicle on streetKeep keys out of your vehicle

Robinson has lived in Boissevain for three years and he says this is the first case he is aware of where someone’s vehicle was stolen after they had left it running.

“This is something you generally see more of in the larger centres and not in the small town Manitoba but case in point it can happen.”

The vehicle hasn’t been recovered and police are continuing with their investigation.

“It’s the same message that we have kind of been preaching here for the last little bit is anytime you are leaving your vehicle unattended, whether running errands or its parked in your driveway, is to keep it locked at all times and leave your valuables out of sight” said Corporal Robinson.
