Once again in Southern Manitoba the snow and frost is on the ground and our vehicles. RCMP Media Relations Officer Tara Seal stated it's important to take a little bit of extra time to clean your vehicle off and be able to see out of all your windows.

Seal noted you need to make sure you and your vehicle are ready to hit the road prior to your trip, whether it be having winter gear with you, or knowing the road conditions.

"Have windshield washer fluid that is rated for winter use, so you can keep your windshield clean and your line of vision clear. Make sure you clear all snow and frost from your vehicle before driving, so you can see and be seen. Safety is first and foremost," said Seal.

If you fail to make sure your vision is inhibited, at the officers discretion you can be issued a ticket.

"We do stress that there is a charge under the Highway Traffic Act, that no person should be driving a vehicle with their few obstructed and there is a fine associated with that," added Seal.

According to Seal the fine is $113.10.

Also during this time Seal wanted to take the time to encourage everyone drive according to the weather as the posted speed limits are for optimal driving conditions. She added it's important to know your road conditions prior to heading on your trip and allotting extra time to make sure you arrive at your destination safely.
