The 27th annual Beach Fest will be taking place this weekend in Killarney.

The event will kick off Friday July 15th with free activities at the golf course.

Organizer, Stephanie Outhwaite shared they will have a new game available for the free Friday.

"New this year on the Friday night, we are trying to get as many family's as possible to the Friday free night at the golf course. We are having bubble soccer there and bubble soccer is where you pretty much are a ball as well as playing a little bit of soccer. It is full contact bubble soccer so you go bouncing and rolling along."

Outhwaite noted a family dance, golf games, volleyball, football and a wing night are some other activities planned.

She expects Friday will close out with a calm but busy night of music out on the lake.

Meanwhile, with the festival in it's 27th year, Outhwaite explained how volunteer support for the event has changed over the years.

"We go through stages of lots of people ready to help out and then not very many. This year we have a couple young faces on the team so we have young girls helping out with the sandcastles and the king and queen stuff. Those young faces will really help give life to Beach Fest. We have a couple of those girls helping us and if we have a couple more it will be that much easier to continue on and for everyone what we are providing for our town."

Outhwaite added on Saturday, July 16th there will be the usual beach volleyball and co-ed slowpitch tournament.

Other activities on Saturday include a sandcastle building contest, inflatables for the kids and face painting.
