Killarney's Optometric Centre continues to raise money for a group that helps improve sight for people around the world.

The 3rd annual fund raising dinner will take place Thursday night, October 13th at the C-E Centre in Killarney.

The Optometric Centre is trying a new approach with a dinner threatre. All proceeds will go to Optometry Giving Sight.

“We do this every year in October. In the past we have done a blind folded dinner and this year we decided to change it up and doing the dinner threatre People will enjoy the murder mystery while being served a meal by the Optometric Centre staff” said Dr. Dustin McGill co-owner of the Optometric Centre.

Dr.Candace DeCock also a co-owner says the dinner is a great way to raise money for the Giving Sight program.

“We also make a small donation for every pair of glasses we sell in October. Optometry Giving Sight is a world wide organization that not only provides glasses and lenses for people who need them around the world but it also sets up education centres and infrastructure so local people can learn to be optometrists.”

The annual fund raising dinner brings in about $2,500 and the Optometric Centre matches that figure. They also accept donations for the program.

This year's dinner is another sell-out.
