Karen Doell of Winkler and Juanita Clayton of Kalieda will be inducted into Softball Canada's Hall of Fame this November.

Both will be enshrined into the Hall along with their Smitty's teammates who won five consecutive Canadian Championship medals from 1993 to 1997.

Smitty's won Gold at the Nationals in 1995, 96 and 97.

Doell says the game has meant so much to her.

“Softball in general, the sport is in my heart,” she said. “There's many sports that I love but that's the one that gave me the most opportunities, I've had probably the most fun with, I've met the greatest people in, and you can't replace those memories. The sport itself is what gave you all of these wonderful people in your life. People that you would drop everything for because they're so special, you've been through a lot of hard times. I know it's only sports but that translates to life in general.”

The team was led by Roy and Evelyne Holenski, who are also being inducted in the Hall of Fame this year.

The 2015 Softball Canada Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will take place Saturday, November 14th in Winnipeg.
