The opposition Conservatives continue to call for Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to resignation over his handling of the SNC-Lavalin issue.
Brandon-Souris MP Larry Maguire says the PM has had lots of opportunities to do the right thing but he still hasn’t apologized. “He said there was no apology and yet there is very clear testimony that there was pressure put on the former attorney general to change a decision that was already made by the prosecution.”
Maguire says people have already made up their minds and the Liberals are in damage control mode.
“We are doing the same thing in calling for the Prime Minister’s resignation and we’d like to see more people testify before the justice committee. In previous testimony from Jody Wilson-Raybould, she named 11 people who she says pressured her and so far the committee has only heard from three of those people.”
The Conservatives would also like Wilson-Raybould back before the committee to testify but the Liberal majority on the Justice Committee has voted that down.
