Manitobans find out on Tuesday afternoon the Pallister government’s latest agenda with the reading of the throne speech.

In last year's throne speech, the government announced plans to limit wage increases for public-sector workers. “We took on a province with a real fiscal problem and we have to be very careful where we spend money and we have to make sure we spend wisely.” said Arthur-Virden MLA Doyle Piwniuk.

Plans are likely to include more cost-cutting measures as the government tries to fulfill a campaign promise to cut the deficit and balance the budget by 2024.

“We are already seeing some improvements because statistics show wait times in hospitals in Winnipeg hospitals have improved. Looking at our economy more jobs have been created and we continue to work at reducing red tape making it more beneficial for businesses to expand, start-up or move to Manitoba."

The throne speech begins a three-week sitting of the legislature before the holiday break scheduled for December 7th.
