The MS Society of Canada will be holding a fundraising bike tour this Sunday at Turtle Mountain Provincial Park.

Riders will travel a 10 kilometre novice or 35 kilometre challenging route to help raise funds to fight Multiple Sclerosis.

Development Officer for the Westman chapter, Leann Bower explained what they are planning for this year.

"Our goal this is to actually make it a family day event. Not only do we have the trails for the actually MS bike and the participants but we have the main beach at Adam Lake set up to do some kayak and paddle board demonstrations, sand castle building and face painting. It should be a fun day."

Bower noted they are expecting 60 participants, ages 10 and up to sign up for the ride.

Meanwhile, she shared how fundraising efforts are going.

"We are doing very well. It is a little bit difficult to tell exactly until people bring in their pledge forms which we don't get until Sunday. We will have a better idea of our exact number immediately following that."

Bower added they are hoping to raise $22,500 from the event.

Meanwhile, there will be two more MS Bike Tour events yet this summer.

A ride from Stonewall to Gimli will take place August 20th and 21st, while the Dauphin to Clear Lake and back event will be held September 10th and 11th.
