The leader of the NDP will be in Boissevain Tuesday night to talk about health care.

Wab Kinew is holding a series of town hall meetings to layout his party’s thoughts and to hear from area residents. To date Kinew has held three such meetings all in Winnipeg.

“I think health care is the biggest issue in Manitoba right now. It’s the issue I hear people talking about around the province so I want to get out and hear their concerns and their views of health care in the future.”

Kinew knows the issue of EMS stations and closures is a big topic for a number of communities in the Westman and Parkland region including Boissevain. Kinew will be in Boissevain Tuesday night at 7:00pm at the Community Centre and he’ll make a stop in Brandon on Wednesday.

“I’ll speak a little bit to share my view for health care and all the cuts and changes and the impact those moves are having and ways I see to prepare the health care system for the future. But more importantly I want to hear from area residents about EMS and whether or not the system is working. It’s a look at the big picture and how things look moving forward” said Kinew.

The opposition leader says information gathered at the town hall meetings will enable him to keep the government accountable.
