The Moncur Gallery in Boissevain has launched a new audio tour that highlights 10 points of interest around the museum.

"They can listen to a full tour. Each one is about two minutes to four minutes long, and it kind of just gives you a more indepth explanation of some of the artifacts we have here in the gallery," said supervisor and summer student Cassandra Wilson.

The gallery released the feature this week after Wilson spent most of the summer writing and recording it.

"I have had families come in and use it, and they really enjoyed it and thought that it was very informative and respectful," she said.

The $3,000 equipment was mostly funded by the Boissevain and Morton Foundation.

The Moncur Gallery is a collection of First Nation artifacts with a focus on pre-contact items, meaning prior to European influence.

All artifacts have been collected in the immediate area by hobby archaeologist and founder William Moncur.

"I really encourage folks to come on down. We're only open for about another month and then we'll be open again next September and we'll be doing a lot of school tours, but yeah, come on down," Wilson said.
