Golf enthusiasts in the Killarney area now have a way of beating the winter weather and still getting to play their favourite sport.

On Wednesday Clover Links Golf opened on Williams Avenue.

Owner Andrew Lochhead says he moved his financial business to the front part of the building and was looking for something to fill the empty space in the back of the building.

“I have two premier golf simulators and about 1,150 square feet of turf you can chip and putt on. The 2019 golf simulator program allows players to choose from 150,000 golf courses around the world.”

“I was looking for office space and found this building and it had a giant warehouse and I thought how great would it be to have golfing in there.”

Lochhead’s original plan was to have 30 memberships sold by the opening date and he is already near that number. “I’ve pretty much met my expectations and I’d like to keep it open for the winter months and then kind of keep it open for rainy days or when tournaments are on and people want to use it through the summer they are more than welcome to do so” said Lochhead.

Up to eight people can golf at any time. Along with the memberships there is a drop in fee for hourly use.
