On December 27, 2018, at approximately 5:20 am, Neepawa RCMP responded to a two-vehicle collision on Highway 16 between Gladstone and Neepawa.

Officers believe that an SUV travelling west on Hwy 16 collided with an ambulance which was travelling east. The lone occupant of the SUV, a 36-year-old-female from Winnipeg, was pronounced deceased on scene. The 37-year-old male ambulance driver, a 37-year-old female passenger, and a patient are currently in hospital.
