In spite of the wet summer the board and staff at the International Peace Garden is looking at the year of 2016 with a sense of accomplishment.

Chief Executive Officer, Garry Enns, says one of the highlights of the year was most certainly the installation of the “Promise of Peace” sculpture in the Formal Garden Fountain this past July.

The Wally Byam Caravan Club International coordinated the project and raised the necessary funds over several years.

The “Promise of Peace” sculpture in an ongoing testament to the hope for peace for all walks of life.

As well, they are looking ahead at the many different events they will be hosting in the New Year.  An addition to the 2017 list will be to host the Provincial Conference of Communities in Bloom at the end of next summer.

Enns says because they are an international organization, they are able to connect with communities on both sides of the border.
