Applications are now available for the City of Brandon's 2017 Water Filter Rebate Program, which will begins March 1st.

The program has been established to assist properties impacted by lead water service connections or by tap water which may be above the national drinking water guidelines for lead concentrations.

The program is part of the City of Brandon’s Lead Water Services Strategy and provides a one-time rebate of up to $100 to assist eligible property owners/occupants in the purchase of an NSF-certified water filter for lead removal. The program is open for application by any City of Brandon property owners/occupants who meet the following criteria:

confirmation of test results which show lead at levels higher than national drinking water guidelines of 0.010 milligrams per litre (mg/L); AND

*submission of a completed application form provided by the City of Brandon; AND

*submission of the original receipt & packaging showing purchase of an NSF/ANSI-53 certified water filter

The City of Brandon wishes to note that following consultations with the Province of Manitoba’s Office of Drinking Water, countertop/fridge-style water filter pitchers and replacement filters are no longer listed as eligible products in its Water Filter Rebate Program. Any resident who received a cash rebate for such type of product through the City of Brandon 2016 Water Filter Rebate Program will be offered an additional one-time rebate of up to $100 in 2017 should they choose to purchase any one of the acceptable filter systems through this year’s program.

Applications must be submitted to the city by mid December.
