The historic dome building on the Keystone Centre grounds in Brandon continues to be upgraded and renovated.

The Provincial Exhibition of Manitoba is behind the project and General Manager Ron Kristjansson said they are nearing completion of the exterior work.

They've been busy fund raising for the project.

"We're estimated at about 7 million dollars total from start to finish," stated Kristjansson.  "The exterior heritage work has been a little over 3 million dollars to this point.  We are roughly half way through the cost of the project I guess.  The interior development is expected to be similar to what we've spent to this point."

Kristjansson says interior work will get underway this winter. They hope to re-open the century old dominion dome building in 2017.
