Organizers are glad they decided to wait out the storm Wednesday night and go ahead with the RCMP Musical Ride performance in Boissevain.

The show was delayed a bit, but went ahead as planned after the severe weather passed through.

Inspector Patrick Egan is the officer in charge of the Musical Ride.

He explains how the horses were affected during the storm.

“They're like any animal, they take note when there's lightening and thunder and their instinct is to get under cover. So we had them on the trucks during the storm and they were fine.”

Egan talked about how the tour of southern Manitoba has been going.

“We've really enjoyed meeting everyone in Manitoba, we've had great crowds. Very good response to the ride, so I would say it's been a roaring success.”

Organizer Dale Banman said they had a good turnout for the roast beef supper, which was a fundraiser for the local ladies' hockey team.

He expects the total attendance will be a bit lower than anticipated due to the weather, noting they had seating set up for about 1,500 people.
