The following is the RCMP report to June 16, 2015.  This reporting period, police responded to the following calls for service.

- 10 common police activities (alarms, suspicious persons/vehicles, assistance to general public)

June 10, 2015
Police received a report of mischief when a window was broken in a residence in Killarney. 
 
Police received a report of a break and enter to the hall in Deloraine.  Police attended the Deloraine Community Hall and discovered the south door had been the point of entry having the door handle broken by being kicked.   No significant damage or vandalism other than some broken lights.  Police noted bike marks on the floor and feel youths could be involved.  Police obtained photographs of the scene and took evidence to be fingerprinted. 
 
June 11, 2015
Police assisted with a matter under the Family Relations Act in Boissevain-Morton area.
 
Police were called to a disturbance in Boissevain.  The report stated that a female ran her vehicle into a male's vehicle and hit him with her shoes.  The female reported that the male pushed her back into her car.  The male was arrested and charged with assault and fail to comply with an undertaking and the female was later arrested and charged with assault with a weapon and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.  Both will appear in court at a later date. 
 
Police received a report of a blue Malibu car with no licence plates doing powerturns in the middle of South Railway in Boissevain. Members attended briefly but were unable to locate the vehicle. A higher priority call came in at the same time which members attended.
 
June 12, 2015
Police received a report of a small white Toyota Corolla that was swerving and crossing the centre line. The vehicle was traveling northbound on Hwy. 10 and the complainant was following it north of Boissevain. The complainant was not sure if the driver was possibly impaired. There was a single occupant in the vehicle, the male driver. Police notified Souris Detachment as the vehicle was headed into the area. The complainant advised that they did not wish to provide a statement to Police.
 
June 13, 2015
Police attended the Erin Inn bar and located a male who had been punched several times in the face by another male. Members spoke with the bleeding male and another male, who stated that he was headbutted in the mouth by another male. Members obtained descriptions of the suspects and police stayed at the bar until closing to prevent any further altercations.  Police viewed security footage and identified the suspects.  The complainants did not want to press charges but tickets will be issued under the Liquor Gaming Control Act. 
 
While on patrol, members observed a Chevrolet Avalanche on Struthers Street in Boissevain. The vehicle appeared to have been driven into a tree, was partially on the road and blocking the back lane. No occupants were in the vehicle. The vehicle was towed as it was a hazard. A male youth advised he had parked like that as there was no where else to park. No charges were laid as the male will have to pay the tow bill.
 
Police received a report that an unlocked vehicle in front of a residence in Killarney had been entered during the night.  Several items were taken.  The matter is under investigation.
 
Police received a report that someone had vandalized vehicles sometime  overnight in Killarney. The vehicles were parked on the street, outside a residence. Police attended and photos were obtained.
 
While following up on the above complaint, police were advised that someone damaged another vehicle on that street.  No entry was gained, however the suspect(s) damaged the rear right side passenger door. These matters are under investigation.
 
Police received a report of a theft of a bug zapper stolen in Killarney. 
 
A male subject approached police in the Erin Inn and became confrontational. He was questioning why police spoke to him about his poor behavior the week before, and asked if it was "personal". Due to the large number of people in the Erin Inn bar, the male was arrested under the intoxicated persons detention act, as he was clearly intoxicated and becoming more and more agitated. He was escorted out of the bar and read his rights.   After a discussion with the male regarding his behavior and attitude in the bar, he was very remorseful, and respectful. Police determined that it was not necessary to lodge the male in cells and allowed him to leave on his own. The male was seen by members several times later in the night, he continued to be respectful to police.
 
Police were dispatched to a domestic assault in Boissevain. Police attended and a female reported that a male and her had recently broke up and he attended her current residence, and she met him outside the front door. An argument took place, ending with the male punching the female in the face. Statements and photos were taken.  The male was arrested and charged with assault and will appear in court at a later date.
 
June 14, 2015
Police were called out for a possible impaired driver.  Ambulance personnel came across a blue vehicle, in the ditch between Road 79W and Road 23N.  Personnel initially thought that the driver was deceased as they had trouble waking him up and he didn't appear to be breathing.  They suspected he was severely intoxicated.  They left to get an actual ambulance unit and when they returned, both the vehicle and driver were gone.  Writer made extensive patrols with negative results.
 
Police were called to advise that a male claimed he was severely assaulted by his girlfriend in Deloraine.  Investigation revealed that the male called in a false report to try to get the female in trouble.   Discretion was used in not pursuing public mischief charges against the male. 
 
While patrolling southbound on Highway 10 north of Boissevain, police observed a vehicle swerve and have difficulty maintaining their lane. A stop was initiated and the female driver was arrested for Impaired Driving.  She was later released to appear in court at a later date.  
 
June 15, 2015
Police received a report of a theft of a boat battery on Max Lake. 
 
Police received a report of a vehicle crossing the centre line and came into the other lane nearly causing an accident.  The complainant did not want to provide a statement. 
 
Police received a report of a theft of quad near Killarney.  The matter is being investigated. 
 
Police received a report of a missing youth in Hartney.  The youth was located.

A man is pulled over by a police officer and a conversation takes place:
Man: What's the problem officer?
Cop: You were going at least 75 in a 55 zone.
Man: No sir, I was going 65.
Wife: Oh Steven. You were going 80.
(Man gives his wife a dirty look.)
Cop: I'm also going to give you a ticket for your broken tail light.
Man: Broken tail light? I didn't know about a broken tail light!
Wife: Oh Steven, you've known about that tail light for weeks.
(Man gives his wife a dirty look.)
Cop: I'm also going to give you a citation for not wearing your seat belt.
Man: Oh, I just took it off when you were walking up to the car.
Wife: Oh Steven, you never wear your seat belt.
Man: Shut your mouth, woman!
Cop: Ma'am, does your husband always talk to you this way?
Wife: No, only when he's drunk.

Our goal is to complete these checks in a timely manner, however please plan ahead as they can take up to 3 weeks to complete.
 
Please also remember that Criminal Checks and Vulnerable Sector Searches for volunteers must provide a letter from the organization stating their volunteer status or there will be a $10.00 fee.
Criminal Record Checks for employment are $10.00 each.
 
Police would like to remind the public that if anyone requires fingerprinting services, they must make an appointment at the Killarney RCMP detachment.  Drop-ins cannot be accommodated.
 
We would like to advise that the business hours of operation at the Killarney Detachment are 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday to Friday.
 
The Boissevain RCMP business hours are Monday and Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
 
The Deloraine RCMP business hours are  Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
 
The general public is encouraged to attend during those hours to ensure someone will be here. It is also recommended to call ahead, however, in the event of an emergency, call 911 or the emergency line.
