The following is the RCMP report to June 2, 2020. This reporting period, police responded to the following calls for service.

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT:

No Front Counter Services. Due to the current situation with Covid-19 virus, the Killarney, Boissevain and Deloraine RCMP detachments advise there will be no front counter services at the detachments until further notice. This includes civilian fingerprints and criminal record checks.

We request that you contact each detachment at 204-523-7293 (Killarney), 204-534-7262 (Boissevain) and 204-747-2810 (Deloraine) to make your inquiries or file a report. Leave a message if needed.

May 26, 2020

Covid complainant checks were done in the area.

Police received a report of a suspicious vehicle in Killarney. The matter is under investigation.

Police received a report of a theft in Killarney. There was insufficient evidence to proceed.

May 27, 2020

Police assisted with an overdose in Killarney. The subject was taken to hospital.

May 28, 2020

Police received a report of a break and enter to a business in Hartney. The matter is under investigation.

Police conducted a COVID-19 check in the Boissevain-Morton area. Everyone was compliant.

Police received an anonymous complaint of a unregistered vehicle driving Killarney. Police located same and there was a valid permit so there was no issues with the vehicle being driven. The vehicle plate was removed from the vehicle as it did not belong with that vehicle.

Police received a report of criminal harassment in Ninette. The matter was unfounded.

Police were dispatched through 911 of someone yelling in Boissevain. Police attended Stephen Street. All was well.

May 29, 2020

RCMP were dispatched to a vehicle fire (truck) south of Killarney on Highway 18. Grain truck with a load of fertilizer on fire and engulfed. No one trapped or injuries reported. Fire department attended and extinguished the fire. Nothing suspicious.

Police received several 911 hang up calls, unknown female said hello and hung up again. Police attended the address and spoke with the family there, a small child admitted to being the one that called. Police discussed proper use of 911 with the family.

Police received a report of what they thought was gunshots in Boissevain, then saw fireworks from down the street. Complainant said it was five loud fireworks that startled them. Patrols in the area, no signs of any disturbances.

May 30, 2020

Police received a report of a suspicious person in Hartney. The male was described as suspicious, laughing and talked about the devil. Suspicious person left on a motorcycle. The youth was at home and safe. Police spoke with the parent who was not concerned about the incident and did not want Police to speak with the individual.

May 31, 2020

Police received a report of a suspicious vehicle in Medora. It was reported that there was a Black Ford Expedition (an older model) with a trailer attached and with a motorcycle in it driving in Medora region near Hwy 3 and Hwy 21 with unknown number of occupants at 3:00 a.m. Patrols were made but the vehicle was not located.

Police received a request for a well being check in Killarney. Everyone located safe.

Police received a report of mischief in Killarney of a decorative wind-mill. Police attended, photos obtained, beer can was located on a neighbor's driveway. The matter is under investigation.

June 1, 2020

Police received a report of a suspicious vehicle driving up and down Finlay Avenue in Killarney. Patrols were made and located the vehicle. The occupants were out playing Pokeman Go.

June 2, 2020

More reports of what appears to be gunshots for the last 4 nights in Boissevain. These appear to be fireworks again.

Police received another report of a suspicious male in Hartney on a motorcycle. The male approached children to go on his motorcycle. The matter is under investigation.

Boissevain RCMP will be open Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. However, there is no front counter service at this time.
