August 30, 2016

Boissevain detachment had a wallet turned in. Police are trying to locate the owner.

A laptop was turned into the Killarney detachment. The laptop was found at Erin Park and vandalized. It can be claimed at the Killarney detachment.

August 31, 2016

Police received a report of a break and enter to the Boissevain Golf Club. Several items were stolen. The matter is under investigation.

Police received a report of a lost LG5 cell phone. If anyone locates the phone, please contact Killarney RCMP.

Police received a report of fraud in Cartwright. The matter is under investigation.

Police received information of a male in breach of his no contact conditions in Ninette. The male was arrested, charged and remanded into custody at the Brandon Correctional Centre.

September 1, 2016

Police received a report of criminal harassment in Deloraine. All parties were spoken to and the matter was deemed civil.

Police received a report of a theft of laptop from a vehicle in Killarney. If anyone has any information, please contact the Killarney RCMP.

Police received a report of a theft of a grey Vagabond mountain bike from Kerry Park Campground.

Police assisted with a matter under the Mental Health Act in Killarney.

Killarney RCMP was dispatched to a complaint of a spousal assault in progress in Killarney. Police attended and spoke to the victim who provided a witness statement stating she was chocked and pushed repeatedly. The male suspect had fled the scene. The male suspect was located by police and was arrested, charged and released on an undertaking.

September 2, 2016

More Canada Revenue Scams were reported this week. Police would like to remind the public that this scam is alive and well in the area. Do not release any information and do not send any funds if you receive the call stating you owe back taxes.

Police received a report of lost hockey equipment in a hockey bag that fell out of a truck on Highway 10. Contact Boissevain RCMP if the equipment is located.

Police received a 911 call advising that a motorist was northbound on Highway 10 and was following a large semi, possibly yellow in colour. The semi was swerving all over and not staying in his lane. The caller did not provide a plate number for the vehicle. As the vehicle was almost out of detachment area heading north bound, dispatch was requested to forward to the Souris and Brandon detachments.

Boissevain RCMP received dispatch that a male subject was being over served at the Boissevain Hotel and Bar. Police attended and located the male who was intoxicated but was cut off by bartending staff. Police were advised that the male would be walking back to a friends house for the night.

Police received a call to report that a long barrel gun was being shot in/near the town of Belmont. Police attended and made extensive patrols. Fireworks were reported to have gone off at the same time this call was received. Police were unable to locate who was setting off the fireworks nor the precise location where they were set up. The complainant was updated.

September 3, 2016

Police received a 911 call of an intoxicated person at residence causing a disturbance. Police attended the residence in Killarney and spoke to complainant who advised that they were having a little get together and drinking. An argument took place and he decided to call police before it escalated. The male saw the complainant call police and left residence. Patrols made around are, no one walking around. Everyone was cooperative with police.

September 4, 2016

Police assisted with a matter under the Mental Health Act in Cartwright.

Police received information that a lost traveller was looking for a ride back to the Killarney campground. It was learned that the "lost" traveller was in Killarney, Ontario and a phone number was provided for an Ontario taxi company.

A checkstop was done in the Boissevain-Morton and Grasslands area. A total of 350 vehicles were checked with 5 tickets and 14 written warnings issued. Three field sobriety tests were also done and all 3 passed!!!

September 5, 2016

Police were dispatched to a domestic situation in Waskada. After initial investigation, police arrested and charged a male with assault, sexual assault and fail to comply with an undertaking. He will appear in court at a later date.

Police received a report of a break and enter to the Boissevain Golf Course. The matter is under investigation.

Police were dispatched to a possible breach of a recognizance in Baldur. The matter was unfounded.

Police continue to remind residents to never provide personal information such as birth dates, SIN numbers, credit card numbers, or e-mail address to parties you do not know. If you feel that you have been contacted by a fraudulent source, please contact police or Phone Busters Fraud Center immediately for further instructions on what you can do. Child Abuse Registry checks are NOT done through the RCMP. Please call 1-800-282-8069 for any information on the Child Abuse Registry. Criminal Record Checks and Vulnerable Sector Searches: Our goal is to complete these checks in a timely manner, however please plan ahead as they can take up to 3 weeks to complete. People are reminded they themselves can only request and pick up their own checks and are asked to bring two pieces of identification, one photo.

Please also remember that Criminal Checks and Vulnerable Sector Searches for volunteers must provide a letter from the organization stating their volunteer status or there will be a $10.00 fee.

Criminal Record Checks for employment are $10.00 each.

Police would like to remind the public that if anyone requires fingerprinting services, they must make an appointment at the Killarney RCMP detachment. Drop-ins cannot be accommodated.

We would like to advise that the business hours of operation at the Killarney Detachment are 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday to Friday

NEW HOURS FOR THE BOISSEVAIN OFFICE: The Boissevain RCMP business hours are Monday to Thursday 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. No office staff on Fridays.

The Deloraine RCMP business hours are Monday, Wednesday and Friday 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday are 8:30 to 3:00 p.m.

The general public is encouraged to attend during those hours to ensure someone will be here. It is also recommended to call ahead, however, in the event of an emergency, call 911 or the emergency line.

RCMP WOULD LIKE TO REMIND THE PUBLIC THAT AFTER HOURS AND ON WEEKENDS TO USE THE POLICE EMERGENCY LINE FOR YOUR LOCAL OFFICE or 911.
