It's a fun and relaxing hobby for everyone to enjoy, but it's important to remain safe while riding All Terrain Vehicles (ATV) this summer.

"We feel it's critically important, especially for people just getting into the sport," said ATV Association of Manitoba's treasurer Armando Brambilla when asked about the importance of ATV safety. "ATV riding can be an incredibly fun and relaxing hobby, especially when done in a group. There is a big social aspect to it. It's also important for people to remember that they are dealing with a motorized vehicle. An operation of a motorized vehicle comes with apparent risks that need to be understood. So we believe, much like driving a car, a boat, or any other motorized vehicle, it's important to undertake some sort of safety course in order to learn how to operate the vehicle correctly."

Brambilla stated it's important to make sure you are riding the appropriate sized machine for yourself, and encouraged everyone to do a pre-ride inspection of your ATV.

According to Brambilla using common sense is a great way to keeping yourself safe.
