Stars Air Ambulance held another successful fund raising event on Friday in the Whiteshell.

Eight supporters of the air ambulance program spent the day on Carter Island finding out more about Stars while working their cell phones to raise $50,000 each.

Brad Lawson is owner of Clark's Poultry in Brandon and he thoroughly enjoyed the day. "I've always been a supporter of Stars and we have lots of rurasl customers who have used the service and I recognize the vital importance of the ambulance service to rural Manitoba."

Throughout the day the eight participants were put through team building tasks while learning more about how Stars works. "It gives me a new appreciation for what these people do and how stressful the job can be."

Lawson surpassed his goal and has so far brought in $62,100. The entire group has raised well over $300,000 and that money goes to support Stars Air Ambulance and its services.
