The search for a missing 25-year-old woman from Schanzenfeld, in south central Manitoba, was called off by RCMP Monday after human remains were found near the community.

Maria Pluschnik was last seen on the evening of February 7th when she left Schazenfeld in her vehicle.

It appears her vehicle became stuck in a snow drift at the intersection of Road 22 West and Road 8 North in the RM of Stanley and had been there for some time.

On Monday afternoon, a volunteer searcher located the human remains of a person in a secluded ravine near Schanzenfeld.

Police have not publicly confirmed the identity of the remains, but posts on social media from people connected to the family have indicated they were Pluschnik.
