A Sidney resident lost her home just over a week ago, and Sidney Breath of Life Church turned a Good Friday gospel concert into a fundraiser for her.

Robyn Poole's mobile home was still burning two mornings after it caught fire and Pastor Mike Blume discussed with church members about turning the planned concert into a benefit event to help Poole out.

"When we are asked to do the concert, we were more than pleased to take the event," says Alfred MacLaren who performed with his wife, Coralie. "Then we were pleased to hear that we were going to do it as a fundraiser for this lady who lost her home."

MacLaren says $500 was raised for Poole. The town has organized a drop-off for donations and household items at the local General Store.

MacLaren and his wife performed a variety of gospel songs, and several from the surrounding area came out to enjoy the evening and support the cause.
