A benefit concert took place Sunday night in Sidney, at Sidney Breath of Life Church, with proceeds going toward Siloam Mission in Winnipeg. Alfred and Coralie MacLaren of Portage are members of the church, and were the performers. Alfred MacLaren describes what it was like"It's a wonderful feeling," says MacLaren. "We love to support the cause, and know that we're making a difference for the community. Tonight people gave such things as used adult clothing, canned goods nonperishable, as well as donation of money."

He notes there were over 100 in attendance. MacLaren adds they sang Christmas songs ranging from old-fashioned favourites to modern pieces for about two hours.

Pastor Mike Blume says it was the best he saw the MacLarens ever perform, and was thrilled with the results. Pastor Don Dragan from Minnedosa Calvary Church brought some carloads of people in to join the concert, and some attended from as far away as Miami, MB. Kayla Klein and Pauline Blair organized the event and both add it was a great success. Blair adds they were blessed to have such heavenly talent in their congregation.
