Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement as meteorologists are tracking a developing Colorado Low.

A broad area of snow is expected to move into Manitoba tonight from North Dakota.

Many areas of southern Manitoba will likely see between 5 and 10 centimetres of snow, though there are early indications this system could dump up to 20 centimetres of the white stuff over a 24 hour period.

As the system moves east, daytime highs are expected to drop to the -10 to -15 degree range for the end of the week with overnight lows dipping to near -20 degrees Friday night.

Environment Canada says slightly warmer than normal temperatures should return next week.
